We have arrived safe and sound in Windsor, ON at the Lakeview Park Marina – a marina we often stop at when doing boat deliveries for fuel, etc.
We departed Tobermory at 0900 yesterday with a decent weather window to do the length of Lake Huron through the day and night. We arrived at Sarnia at 0900 today to take on fuel and pump out and then pressed on to Windsor, arriving at 1600. We were surprised to see the Tobermory Great Blue Heron tour boat also here at Lakeview as we just saw them yesterday in Tobermory. It turns out they also departed yesterday morning and stayed last night in Sarnia. The crew are taking the Great Blue Heron to Weatley, ON to get two new engines installed over the winter.
We plan on heading to Leamington tomorrow and then start the Lake Erie passage, weather permitting. Once we do Lake Erie, we will take the rig down in Tonawanda, NY or Port Dover, ON and then enter the Erie Canal. The Canal closes 20 November so we need to be pressing on to get through the Canal before the 20th. So we have a month to get it done, which should be plenty of time even with weather continuing to get in the way.
