PASSAGE MAKING – BOAT DELIVERY:
COSMOS Yacht Charters delivers sailing and power vessels to and from the Caribbean and the Great Lakes. Typically, these boat deliveries are in October/November and April/May time frames. A boat delivery voyage of this type affords crew members a unique experience in passage making. Crew members can take an active part in these passages:
- Ocean sailing from New York City to Bermuda; Bermuda to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands
- Ocean sailing from the Caribbean to the Bahamas
- Ocean sailing on the Northeastern Seaboard of North America
- Navigation through the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW)
- Sailing by New York City and in the Hudson River
- Traversing the New York Canal systems
- Great Lakes crossings
- St. Lawrence Seaway
Various legs of a boat delivery passage are available to interested crew members. Detailed itineraries are established in advance as part of safe route planning and posted on our web site. For a sample of a route plan itinerary, please refer to this Table.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE PLANNING:
If weather was to prevent an ocean passage from the Bahamas to Beaufort (unlikely), there are a number of options for changing the route plan. One option is to cut the ocean passage shorter by going to the East coast South of Beaufort, NC to Cape Fear, NC or Charleston, SC. Another option is to sail from the Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale, and then take the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) to Beaufort, or continue on the ICW to Norfolk, Virginia. As always, prudent route planning will be governed by short and long range weather forecasts. Any modification to the route plan will be done with safety first in mind.
Interested crew members can choose whatever legs of the passage they would like to experience. For more information on availability and pricing, please contact COSMOS Yacht Charters at Contact Us or telephone (905) 715-8795.
