CRUISE & LEARN SAMPLE ITINERARY (TWO DAYS):

The Five Day ‘Cruise & Learn’ Charter, typically begins at 0900 (9am) of the first day, and ends by 1700 (5pm) on the fifth day. A Five Day cruise allows for an adventuresome journey given the guests will be spending five days and four nights on the luxury yacht.

The yacht would leave dock by 9am and the first night would be swinging on anchor off the shores of Beausoleil Island – a Canadian National Park – with several picturesque anchorages available.

On the first day the guests/students have ample opportunity to leisurely become familiarized with the vessel. We would drop anchor around noon – in time to prepare and enjoy a mid-day lunch. Guests have the opportunity to explore with the dinghy; land on sandy beaches for a swim; take in a hike on the many well-marked trails on the Island; or simply swim off the stern of the vessel which has a walk-through transom, hot and cold shower head, and an integrated swim ladder.

Guests can enjoy dinner on the upper deck while the sun slowly dips below the horizon. This first day allows for a review of the course outline. Some theory instruction would occur in the afternoon/evening. Typically, theory sessions occur while sitting in the cockpit, sipping on morning coffee, and prior to departing for the afternoon sail.

The next morning, guests rise at their leisure. Between a scrumptious breakfast, and before departure, a sail theory session is held. During any time sail theory is being discussed/taught, interruptions are normal and to be expected. We pause as required and resume when ready.

We weigh (lift) anchor before lunch and have lunch underway. We would sail through the picturesque Minicognishene and Musquash Channels. Less than 3 hours away, very secluded anchorages such as Longuissa or Hockey Stick Bays make for a tranquil evening swinging on anchor.

The balance of the five day itinerary would be similar to the first two days shown above as we sail in amongst the Georgian Bay Islands National Park and the 30,000 Islands. We design this ‘Cruise and Learn’ week to your itinerary preferences. We can plan for a longer time sailing each day (4-6 hours), or shorter times, whichever you prefer. We can plan to have dinner one or two nights off the boat if you wish while visiting Georgian Bay harbours.

After you secure your booking, we send you a ‘Journey Planner’ which allows you to tell us what type of adventure Cruise & Learn charter you prefer. If you chose our ‘All-Inclusive Plan’, the Planner also gives you the opportunity to identify your food and beverages preferences so we can stock the galley accordingly.

From your input we develop an itinerary for your review/approval prior to departure. We pride ourselves on flexibility and accommodating our guests wherever possible. Even with a pre-planned itinerary, students/guests still have the option to change it as the cruise unfolds, if desired and assuming weather permits.
